Argentine empanadas are the latest example of the rapprochement that has taken place in Spain with Argentine gastronomy. But Milanese, dulce de leche or chimichurri are also very present in the culinary offer of any of our cities. And to celebrate it, and make it known in style, Madrid pays tribute to these and other dishes with
Like in Buenos Airesthe culinary days that we can enjoy in more than 30 restaurants.

It has been the Government of the Argentine capital, through the Buenos Aires: Gastronomic Capital initiative, which has prepared this event in which we can enjoy the country’s traditional recipe book. An appointment that promotes culture through delicious menus and
argentinian dishes.

Among the leading Argentine restaurants in Madrid is Piantao, which with two locations in the city offers a delicious
selection of meats autochthonous, as well as other dishes that can be accompanied by the best wines of the country. With Javier Brichetto in charge of the kitchen, his restaurant in Legazpi hosted the presentation of this culinary experience of which they are also a part.

“In four years we are going to put an Argentine product on every plate of food in the world,” revealed Héctor Gatto, the Undersecretary for Gastronomic Policies of the Argentine government, at the presentation of the initiative. «This is an action that we want to take to the rest of the world to publicize the wealth of the
Argentine gastronomy“he added.

Beyond the meats and empanadas

The Piantao rib eye, the Argentinian empanadas and the sweet Rogel de Graciana empanadas, the grilled polenta with pomarola of roasted tomatoes from Tatema, the Humita en chala with heart sweetbreads and
chimichurri Andino from Casa Jaguar or the Patagonian shrimp skewer on seaweed from Metro Bistró are some of the best culinary representatives of Argentina that we can enjoy without leaving Madrid.

La Milanesa, the 100% Argentine grilled meat or the Vitel toné from Abuela Herminia’s menus, or the pancake from
caramel sauce with caramelized sugar from Pani Bistró are other dishes and restaurants that are part of “Como en Buenos Aires”, which also includes Tita de Buenos Aires and its seven empanada shops.

Proposals for all tastes

Each of the 33 restaurants that have joined the initiative has designed a menu or created a fixed-price promotion that aims to bring lovers of good gastronomy closer to restaurants. Thus, for example, in the Bar de Carnes (by Bistec) in Pozuelo de Alarcón we can enjoy an Argentine empanada, a
chorizo steak and homemade dulce de leche pancakes for 25 euros.

The América 2 pastry shops, located on Eloy Gonzalo and Menéndez Pelayo avenue, have included two
crumb sandwiches to choose, two empanadas to choose and an alfajor. And at Manteca Burgers the proposal includes an Argentine-style hamburger with drink, fries and dessert for 20 euros.

The Argentinian empanada stuffed with Manchego cheese and onion confit or tuna and egg, any of them for 3.75 euros, from Viva Madrid or the
breaded accompanied by a Quilmes for 20 euros at Mama Rosa on Calle Labrador are other excellent options to delve into Argentine gastronomy from June 5 to 9.

Pipe Empanadas Argentinas from Alcobendas and the Bistec Boutique from Boadilla del Monte and Pozuelo de Alarcón are three of the
restaurants from outside the capital who have also joined the initiative with discounts and special prices.

As Héctor Gatto recalled in the presentation of Como in Buenos Aires, Argentina is a leading country in food production, especially with regard to agriculture, but these are mostly destined for animal feed. And from the government of the country they work so that the quality of their
cattle ranchingas well as food, place them among the main producers of human food.
